A substantial envelope.

The State pledged this Wednesday to finance up to 81.5 million euros part of the public transport projects carried by Sytral in Lyon.

The announcement was made by Prime Minister Jean Castex traveling in the North.

To benefit from these subsidies, work must start before the end of 2025. And among the projects selected is the Lyon cable car.

An announcement that should irritate opponents of the project.

The state will put 7 million euros on the table.

Six other projects selected

The cable car, as planned by the Sytral, must link Francheville to Lyon.

Several routes are under study.

The terminus has not yet been determined.

The line could arrive at Gerland or at Confluence in the evening.

Six other projects concerning the Lyon conurbation have been selected by the State.

1.9 million euros will be allocated to improving the bus lines, 15.8 million to the T10 tramway.

The T6 north and T9 tram lines are expected to receive 17 and 33.8 million euros respectively.

In order to increase the capacity of the T1 and T2 lines, Sytral should receive a budget of 3 million euros.

Finally, the remaining 2.8 million will be used for the Center-Est bus line 1 and 2.
