The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry to the scientists Benjamin List and David WC MacMillan for their role in "the development of asymmetric organocatalysis", used for the research of new pharmaceutical products and which has contributed to the chemistry is more environmentally friendly.

This is one of the bets among the more than 70 researchers who aspired to this laurel.

The Physics award went to Syukuro Manabe, Klaus Hasselmann and Giorgio Parisi, "for important contributions to the understanding of complex physical systems."

The Swedish Academy will announce on Thursday the Prize for Literature, the most anticipated along with the Peace Prize, which will be announced on Friday in Oslo.

The Economy one will close the season next Monday, October 11.
