[Explanation] 2021 is the 100th anniversary of Chinese archaeology and the 20th anniversary of the discovery of the Jinsha site.

Distinguished Professor of Sichuan University, Director of the Museum of Sichuan University, Dean of the School of History and Culture, and Director of the Chinese Archaeological Society Huo Wei said in an exclusive interview with China News Agency "Ask East and West" that the Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites have not only enriched, developed and perfected ancient Chinese The bronze civilization system and the gold products that they created represent concepts such as sun-moon worship are also the most simple and natural expression of the Chinese nation to the universe, the world, and all things in the world.

As the largest and highest-level central site in the Xia-Shang period discovered in the Sichuan Basin, a new round of archaeological excavations at the Sanxingdui site is also underway.

Huo Wei believes that among the six newly excavated sacrificial pits, the types of bronzes in Sanxingdui are also richer, including not only the large kneeling figures that have never been discovered in the past, but also the intricately shaped bronze altars, beasts, and carvings. Jade Cong with leaves and branches of the sacred tree.

These artifacts have greatly enriched the sacrificial scene in Sanxingdui. While solving some puzzles, they also put forward more unsolved mysteries.

A large number of new cultural relics that have never been seen in the past have been unearthed from the several sacrificial pits in Sanxingdui.

The discovery of the 6 sacrificial pits, I think it left us with a lot of secrets to be interpreted, the mystery to be solved, first of all, we have to answer whether these 6 pits were formed at one time or are traces left by multiple sacrificial offerings. What are the differences in functions?

This is the first question.

The second question is, is there a corresponding group relationship among these sacrificial pits?

The third question is, what is the relationship between these six sacrificial pits and the first and second pits discovered in the past?

What kind of important supplement does it have to pits 1 and 2?

There is also the biggest mystery, which is whether we can expect to find words from it at the end of the excavation.

[Explanation] At the same time, the opening of 6 new sacrificial pits in Sanxingdui also brought the Jinsha site into focus.

In Huo Wei's view, as the continuation and development of the Sanxingdui civilization, the Jinsha Site has many cultural factors similar to those of the Sanxingdui civilization.

Huo Wei introduced that artifacts with highly similar patterns have been unearthed at the Sanxingdui and Jinsha sites, which is enough to show that this is some kind of primitive information from the highest-ranking people in Sanxingdui and Jinsha.

The Jinsha site is obviously the continuation and development of Sanxingdui culture. Jinsha has many cultural phenomena similar to Sanxingdui. For example, they have unearthed basically the same golden masks and a large amount of ivory used for sacrifice.

Although there is only one small bronze figure unearthed in Jinsha, the basic shape of that bronze figure is similar to those unearthed in Sanxingdui.

The most peculiar thing is that the group of mysterious patterns on the golden rod of Sanxingdui is basically the same as the mysterious pattern on the golden belt of Jinsha, indicating that they are a kind of information between the high-level nobles and the powerful. Transmission, this kind of information transmission must have its profound meaning.

This is also a very important physical evidence that closely links Jinsha and Sanxingdui.

[Explanation] It is reported that at present, Sanxingdui Site is working with Jinsha Site to apply for World Cultural Heritage.

Huo Wei believes that the sun bird represents the extremely high creativity and imagination of the ancient Shu ancestors, and is a representative artifact of the highest level in the same period.

It can be said that Sanxingdui and Jinsha are connected as a whole, which is very advantageous for applying for world cultural heritage.

First of all, it must be able to fully reflect the richness of ancient Chinese culture that the cultural relics unearthed in this heritage site can show, its artistic creativity, its very exaggerated imagination, and its very exquisite production. Some of these technological abilities are possessed by Sanxingdui and Jinsha, and this just makes up for some of the missing elements in the bronze culture discovered in the past.

I think it has greatly enriched, developed, and improved the ancient Chinese bronze civilization system, and made the brilliant Chinese civilization stand on the forest of world civilization. It has a very solid cultural foundation. This is also what I think is very important for them to declare a cultural heritage site. in accordance with.
