An agreement was signed to quickly grasp the situation from the sky using a drone when a disaster occurs on a national road such as in Tochigi prefecture.

The agreement was signed with the Utsunomiya National Highway Office, which manages some national roads in Tochigi Prefecture and Ibaraki Prefecture, and the Tochigi Prefecture Survey Design Industry Association, which is made up of companies that use drones for surveying.

When the signing ceremony of the agreement was held in Utsunomiya City and a disaster occurred in the area under the jurisdiction of the national highway office, the association side included that the company to which it belongs would investigate the damage situation using a drone based on the request. Signed an agreement.

After the conclusion ceremony, training was held, and the image taken by the association flying the drone from the sky was transmitted to the national highway office, and the person in charge was checking the image on the monitor.



According to the association, the company to which it belongs has more than 80 drones in total, and will continue to conduct regular training in the future.



Kei Inoue, director of the Utsunomiya National Highway Office, said, "In the unlikely event of a disaster, we would like to understand the damage situation and lead to early recovery."
