An event was held at a nursery school in Takayama City, Gifu Prefecture, to experience the magnitude of the impact of a car collision so that people could understand the importance of seat belts from an early age.

This experience session was held by Gifu Prefecture and JAF = Japan Automobile Federation at Nakayama Nursery School, and 36 older children participated.

The children first learned about the need for seat belts by listening to JAF staff and watching videos on DVD.

Then, two people sat on the seats sliding on the rails, fastened their seat belts, and experienced the magnitude of the impact when they collided at 5 km / h.

The children were surprised to hear a loud shock and noise even at a speed of only 5 kilometers, and some of them started crying, saying, "I was very scared."

Hiroshi Iwasa, Deputy Chief of the Promotion and Disaster Prevention Division of the Hida Prefectural Office, said, "The child seat usage rate for 5-year-old children is as low as 48% on a national average. I want you to wear it. "

Gifu Prefecture will continue to visit kindergartens and nursery schools in the prefecture to hold such experience-based events.
