A survey by the prefectural board of education found that more than half of the teachers who serve as advisors to the athletic club at junior high schools and high schools in Oita Prefecture feel burdened with club activities while reforming the working styles of teachers is an issue.

The Oita Prefectural Board of Education extracted 51 schools from junior high schools and high schools in the prefecture in order to grasp the actual situation of club activities that are considered to be one of the causes of long working hours for teachers, and from February to June of last year, the sports club We conducted a questionnaire targeting teachers, students, and parents who act as advisors.

Among them, the teachers who answered that club activities were "very burdensome" and "rather burdensome" were ▽ junior high school 59% and ▽ high school 51%, and more than half of them gave guidance on club activities. I found that I felt burdened.

On the other hand, 78.9% of junior high school students and 81.7% of high school students answered that their club activities were "very fulfilling" and "relatively fulfilling".

Regarding club activities, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has indicated a policy of gradually shifting holiday guidance to the region from the next fiscal year.

The Physical Education and Health Division of the Prefectural Board of Education says, "We would like to work with the municipalities to consider the transition to the community in order to make it a sustainable club activity."

Holiday club activity guidance Transition to the area is in each place

Efforts and studies to shift the guidance of club activities on holidays to the region have already begun in various places.

In Kagoshima and Tokushima prefectures, we dispatch external human resources to model schools after coordinating with private sports organizations.

Depending on the region, it is expected that each teacher will reduce working hours by about 15 hours a month, but in some cases it is not possible to secure external human resources and the teachers of the model school advisors will also give guidance on holidays. ..

Assuming that sports clubs will take charge of guidance in Oita Prefecture as well, we will set up a review committee for each municipality in the future to consider the transition schedule.
