It is when reading aloud that the texts of Jean D'Amérique spread their wings.
During the RFI Théâtre 2021 award to the Haitian writer and poet at the Les Francophonies festival in Limoges, the young Haitian actress Mahealani Amaru delivered a moving interpretation of an extract from the winning play “Opera Dust”, a poetic tribute to the Haitian anti-colonialist resistance activist Sanite Bélair, assassinated by the French colonists in 1802.
