The police will check the Crit'air stickers on vehicles in 27 municipalities in the agglomeration of Grenoble (Isère).

From Monday, October 27 and until Sunday, October 3, agents will ensure, on an “educational” basis, compliance with traffic rules in the Low Emission-Mobility Zone (ZFE-m) of the metropolis, reports France 3 Auvergne Rhône Alpes.

This provision concerns light commercial vehicles as well as polluting heavy goods vehicles.

They have been banned from circulating in the ZFE-m zone since July 1, 2020, explains the local channel.

48% of nitrogen oxide emissions and 33% of fine particle emissions are generated by goods transport vehicles, recalls the metropolis of Grenoble.

From 68 to 135 euros fine

The Crit'air sticker is used to identify the vehicles concerned.

These are the categories "CQA unclassified", "CQA5" and "CQA4", detail our colleagues.

The control operation is also aimed at raising awareness among drivers and informing them of the facilities from which they can benefit.

Financial aid is for example granted for the replacement of polluting vehicles by those with low emission, indicates the local media.

People who do not respect the rules in force or who do not have the obligatory label risk a 3rd class fine ranging from 68 to 135 euros.
