Compensation of a Saudi woman, half a million riyals, for “towing her car”

A Saudi court decided to compensate a female citizen in the amount of 470,000 riyals (about 126,000 dollars) for the damages she incurred after her car was withdrawn from the company and sold to a citizen without transferring the ownership of the vehicle.

The newspaper "Okaz" stated that the failure to transfer the ownership of the vehicle resulted in traffic violations of more than 55,000 riyals (14,000 US dollars), in addition to seizing her car for about 10 years, noting that one of the car dealerships withdrew a woman's car 12 years ago for her failure to pay. installments, and decided to sell it to a citizen without transferring the ownership of the vehicle to him.

The citizen woman filed a lawsuit before the General Court in Jeddah, asking to sue the company and sue the citizen who owned the vehicle because he had been a “rapist” of the vehicle unjustly and had not transferred its ownership and remained refusing and refusing to respond to correct the situation, which caused material and moral losses to the citizenship, which suspended its services due to the accumulation of violations. on her.

The plaintiff said in her lawsuit that she was damaged because she lost the ownership of a luxury vehicle 12 years ago, whose value was estimated at more than half a million riyals.

In her lawsuit, the citizen added that the company had caused what happened to her, as it had enabled the other party to seize the car illegally.
