As a countermeasure against the new coronavirus, the government has decided to cancel all priority measures such as the declaration of emergency in 19 prefectures and the prevention of spread in 8 prefectures with a 30-day deadline.

It is the first time in about half a year that no declarations and priority measures have been issued in any region.

What will change from now on with the release?

Local government certified restaurants are open until 9 pm

The proposed change to the government's basic coping policy calls for gradual relaxation of restrictions on daily life.

Regarding requests to shorten business hours for restaurants, after approving the provision of alcohol, stores that have been certified for infection control by local governments, etc. will be until 9 pm, and other stores will be available within the next month. Basically until 8:00 pm, the governor will make an appropriate decision according to the infection situation in the area.

Regarding restaurants that offer karaoke, we request that we refrain from using the equipment within the next month, and we will consider mitigation at the governor's discretion based on the local infection situation and store infection prevention measures.

Up to 50% capacity for events

In addition, regarding the holding of the event, the maximum capacity is limited to 5000 people or 50% of the capacity within the next month.

However, for large-scale facilities, the upper limit is 10,000 people.

On the other hand, regarding the response at school sites, it is said that the entrance exams for high schools and universities will be carried out as planned after the practitioners have taken all possible measures to prevent infection and secure opportunities to take the exams.

When going out, we are looking for flexible working styles such as avoiding crowded places and time and acting with a small number of people and promoting telework.

In addition, for travel across prefectures such as homecoming, travel, and business trips, we recommend testing for people at high risk, such as those who have not completed vaccination.

Regarding the review of behavioral restrictions, the effect of infection control will be demonstrated using vaccination certificates and negative tests, and the implementation will be promoted through public discussions.

Only stores certified by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government can serve sake until 8 pm

It is the correspondence of the local government.

During the period of the declaration, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has put together a proposal for new measures to gradually ease the request for leave of absence from restaurants that serve alcohol.

The period of measures is about 3 weeks from the 1st to the 24th of next month.

Alcohol can be served at restaurants until 8:00 pm only at stores that have been certified by the city as having thorough infection control measures, and business hours will be relaxed by 9:00 pm.

Up to 4 people per group.

On the other hand, restaurants that have not been certified are required to refrain from serving alcohol and to open shorter hours until 8:00 pm.

The capital wants to provide a cooperation fee of 25,000 to 200,000 yen per day to the stores that have taken measures, depending on the scale.

The government has a policy of making it possible to serve alcohol at restaurants regardless of whether it is certified or not, and then the governor will make an appropriate decision according to the infection situation.

On the other hand, the capital has limited the provision of liquor to certified stores, saying that the risk is low if the stores have thorough infection control measures.

The Governor of Tokyo will hold a meeting of the Countermeasures Headquarters on the night of the 28th to make a decision, and then Governor Koike will call on the citizens of Tokyo and businesses to cooperate.

Chiba Prefecture's own standard "certified store" has a policy of lifting all restrictions

On the other hand, in Chiba prefecture, restaurants that take basic infection control measures will relax the provision of alcoholic beverages by 8:00 pm and business hours by 9:00 pm, while the restaurants have been certified according to the prefecture's own strict standards. We have decided to lift the restrictions entirely.

According to the people concerned, the stores that have taken the basic infection control measures indicated by the government are positioned as "confirmation stores", and alcoholic beverages can be served until 8 pm, and business hours will be relaxed by 9 pm.

On the other hand, for about 40 "certified stores" that meet the strict infection control standards created by the prefecture, the policy is to lift all restrictions on the provision of alcoholic beverages and business hours.

Both "confirmation store" and "certified store" can be used by up to 4 people per group.

We will ask restaurants that have not received any certification to refrain from serving alcoholic beverages and to open shorter hours until 8:00 pm.

The period of countermeasures is expected to be about 3 weeks from the 1st to the 24th of next month.

Governor Kumagai will explain these policies from 7:00 pm on the 28th, and will hold a meeting of the countermeasures headquarters on the 29th to make a formal decision.
