From September 17 to 21, 2021, the 12th edition of the Kont Anba Tonèl Intercultural Storytelling Festival took place in Port-au-Prince, despite the difficult context linked to insecurity.

A huge success, according to the organizers.

For the twelfth edition of its

Kont Anba Tonèl Storytelling Festival

, the Foudizè Théâtre company has chosen to honor Mercedes Foucard Guignard dit Deita, a storyteller who died in 2012. From September 17 to 21, which would be Deita's birthday , the audience was immersed in the wonderful world of four talented storytellers. 

The Festival was marked by writing workshops, exhibitions and storytelling evenings, among others.

As a reminder, the Kont Anba Tonèl Festival is a series of cultural meetings and artistic performances aimed at promoting storytelling as Haiti's intangible and oral heritage.

    Carole is an artist who has dedicated herself to the defense and promotion of the values ​​of Haitian culture.  

  • At the Haitian National Pantheon Museum, Daniel Supplice, a notorious ethnologist, volunteered to inventory and preserve the written documents of the history of Haiti.
