The Arrauntz bridge located above the RD932 in Ustaritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) will be destroyed on Friday October 1st.

A demolition that will allow it to be rebuilt later in order to create a passage on 2x2 lanes on the departmental road, reports France Bleu Pays Basque.

The work, which should disrupt the passage of local residents, will be completed in April 2022.

The destruction of the bridge will take place until October 15.

During this period, motorists will no longer be able to take the road below the bridge but will still be able to circulate.

For this, they will have to go through the ramps that normally allow access to the Arrauntz district, details the local radio.

Alternative circulation

Once the bridge is destroyed, the passage will be partially re-established in 2x1 lane, alternately on the left side and the right side, indicates France Bleu.

The bridge will be inaccessible until the end of construction.

A constraint that will force some residents to take great detours.

This is particularly the case for those who wish to go to the public school located on the other side of the bridge.

Shuttles will nevertheless be set up to cross the bridge.

These are particularly intended for schoolchildren who are used to going to school on foot or by bike, note our colleagues.
