On August 8, 2017, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake occurred in Jiuzhaigou County, and the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, known as a "paradise on earth", was damaged in the earthquake.
After 4 years of restoration and reconstruction, the landscape quality of the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area has been fully restored to the pre-earthquake level. The Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area will reopen on September 28.
