Jordanian MP: Jerash Festival is a crime against Jordanians!

A deputy in the Jordanian Parliament said that "holding the Jerash Festival in this circumstance is a crime against Jordanians and a disruption of the nation's will, and that the government bears full responsibility in the future."

In statements to the local Jordanian radio station Hayat FM, MP Saleh Al-Armouti added that "the government is lying to the citizens," stressing that "those who attend the festival did not get the vaccine."

Al-Armouti called on the government to respect the souls of the “martyrs” who died because of Corona, and to respect the laws and defense orders that prevent large gatherings, fine people despite their hunger, and close factories despite their difficult economic conditions.

He stressed that whoever took the decision to hold the festival is a partner in violating the constitution and crimes that will harm citizens in the future, noting that the violations that occurred in the festival would harm committed citizens.

Al-Armouti stressed that the House of Representatives will hold the government accountable during the regular session for the unjustified impromptu decisions that it takes alone without partnering with other institutions.

He stated that "the image of the legal and legal institutions was shaken by the horror of what happened in the Jerash Festival, which is far from meaningful art."

He said that "citizens have the right to file lawsuits against the government to claim all damages caused to them, due to defense orders."

He concluded his speech: "I feel that we have become alienated in this country," adding: "We support the rational, purposeful art that serves Jordan."
