From the early "Red Sorghum" to the recent "Winning Championship", Gong Li, who has been in the film for more than 30 years, is the most representative Chinese actress at home and abroad.
Although known as "Gong Huang" by fans, Gong Li maintained a humble heart and recalled the "frustration education" she received at the scene.
Gong Li said that as the youngest child in the family, she lacked playmates when she was a child, so she liked watching movies. In order to watch movies, she would draw some very realistic fake movie tickets.
But her dream of acting as an actress is not good for her family, and her mother thinks she is not suitable for being an actor, because "she thinks my eyes are small and not white."
Speaking of the experience of a failed trial, Gong Li confessed that this trivial incident frustrated her, and she still remembers the feeling of being returned.
Gong Li said that when she was in school in Chinese opera, students could go out to play TV dramas during the holidays. She got a chance to audition for a TV drama. She took the train all night to Chengdu at her own expense to try out the drama. In the end, she only met the director. The director asked her to "go back and wait for the news" when she had the chance to try it out.
After Gong Li returned to school, she was still waiting for news, but when the teacher mentioned it, the teacher joked to her, "You were returned by them." Gong Li felt very frustrated at the time. At that time, she had a Shandong accent. A little inferior.
Mentioning this, Gong Li said that she believes that this situation is an uncommon experience for actors, so young students should not be discouraged, just continue to practice when they are returned, and don't give up.
Moreover, everything is an arrangement of fate. If she was selected by that TV series at that time, she might not be favored by Director Zhang Yimou and embark on the film road.
The performance of "Qiuju's Lawsuit"
"Red Sorghum" made Gong Li famous in one fell swoop, but she said that her "enlightenment" of the performance began with "Qiuju's Lawsuit".
"I was a drama actor in the first place. After I came to the stage, I was able to play freely. I was not used to it when I first made a movie. The filming of "Red Sorghum" started from the middle of the plot, and the state was not quite clear. Later, I gradually understood through communication."
When filming "A Lawsuit in Qiuju", the shooting at the time was a bit like "candid shooting". The photographer didn't know where the photographer was, and Director Zhang Yimou didn't give them any hint, so he was free to play and act whatever he wanted.
But it is precisely this method of shooting that gives Gong Li a high degree of freedom in performance.
"After that movie, I feel that my perception of images and the relationship between the camera and the camera are different. I like to make movies since then." This time the shooting of "Lanxin Theater" also let Gong Li Have a feeling similar to that of the year.
"Actors don't need any skills"
When it comes to "acting skills", Gong Li said bluntly that he didn't like the word, "'acting skills are particularly good' becomes a skill. The actors don't need any skills. Using skills to create characters will be very blunt, so don't use skills. Just feel it with your heart."
In Gong Li's view, actors do not need skills, but when the role they play requires skills, they should be prepared in advance. For example, when she filmed "Memoirs of a Geisha", there was a fan movement in the play. The director said it was important, so Gong Li practiced it. After several months, I practiced thousands of times a day, and finally succeeded.

When cooperating with Lou Ye on the new film "Lanxin Theater", Lou Ye asked Gong Li to practice gun dismantling. Gong Li spent a lot of time training. Gong Li said, As an actor, you don’t have to care about the final result, “because the director asked you to do something for a reason.” Even if you didn’t use it after practicing, this skill is already on you, and it doesn’t matter whether you shoot or not. .
Speaking of expectations for young actors, Gong Li said that in the fast-paced era, as an actor, you have to settle down and don't go in such a hurry.
