On the afternoon of September 26, the Xiamen Municipal Government of Fujian Province held a press conference. Ma Huilai, an expert from the Fujian Working Group of the Joint Prevention and Control Mechanism Comprehensive Team of the State Council and a researcher from the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said that the clustering characteristics of the Xiamen epidemic were obvious. Reported cases in Tong’an District accounted for more than 88% of the city’s cases, while the number of cases in other districts remained in single digits.

Cases in Tong'an District are mainly concentrated in Xinmin Town, accounting for 82% of the total number of cases in the district.

Due to the strong control measures for the movement of people in different places, no cases of spillage to other provinces have been found.

The number of reported cases in Tong'an District of Xiamen peaked on September 18-20, and dropped rapidly after September 21. The number of new cases remained in single digits for two consecutive days, all of which came from centralized quarantine personnel, and the risk of community transmission was further reduced.

There were no new cases reported in Huli District for 2 consecutive days, Haicang District had no new cases for 4 consecutive days, and Siming District had no new cases for 6 consecutive days, maintaining a low-risk situation.

In Xiang'an District and Jimei District, no infected persons were found in multiple rounds of full screening, and the possibility of local epidemics is very low.

In summary, Xiamen's epidemic situation is generally on a downward trend, and the epidemic prevention and control has achieved staged results, and it has entered a tailing period.
