"I have wonderful memories of everything that happened in those countryside, chestnuts in the fall. At school we drew the leaves of the plane trees. There was the harvest, where we trod the grapes under foot. in the behaviors There was, in this village where I spent the best years of my life, all this folklore of the countryside of the 1950s.

Birth of his love for television

"I come back very, very often to Juillac, because all my relatives are buried in the village cemetery. And then, I like to come back there to take walks and find the little square that was next to my house which is at the start of everything, "he continues.

At the start of everything, and in particular his desire to make television.

"I would sit on a bench to watch television through the window of the appliance merchant, we didn't have any at home", explains Patrick Sébastien at the microphone of Europe 1. "I watched it bundled up in the evenings winter, no sound. That's how I saw my first TV shows. It was magical. "

Land of wonders

After a detour through Paris, Patrick Sébastien falls in love with the Lot, a department next to his native Corrèze. "I moved there in 1978. So it's been a very, very long time since I've been a Lotois," he explains. "The region is called 'the land of wonders'. It is not for nothing. I live in Martel, the city of the seven towers. And around, there are only wonders: Rocamadour, the caves of Lacave, Padirac, the sublime valley of the Dordogne. "

Partick Sébastien describes Martel as "a very charming village where you eat well and the people are nice".

"I am fortunate to have found a place where I have nature in front of my eyes all the time", he rejoices.

"And it is really a region to visit. In my village, there is a small tourist train which receives a lot of people and where people go along the Dordogne valley in a small train. To the point that I am sick of country after a week of absence. "
