Astaffort, its 2,000 inhabitants, its nursing home… But it lacks a new or a new general practitioner.

France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine indicates that the town hall made a clip to extol the merits of the village.

Medical deserts, we know, and rural communities are often forced to compete in ingenuity to seduce practitioners.

Fortunately, among the 2,000 inhabitants of Astaffort, there is Francis Cabrel.

The famous singer never hesitates to put his hand in the dough to help his municipality, of which he was for fifteen years a municipal councilor.

Francis Cabrel therefore participates in the clip produced to try to prove to future doctors that coming to live and work in Astaffort is not so bad. The clip features all the practitioners of the village's multidisciplinary health center, just to show that the future general practitioner will not be isolated, far from it. The villagers are also part of the game. In the end, the clip is rather funny and successful.

Posted on September 22, and 15,000 people have already viewed it on YouTube.

But there is an emergency: "We still had four doctors at the end of 2020 and today, we no longer have two, this is a problem for Astaffort, but also for all the surrounding municipalities", declares Paul Bonnet, the mayor of Astaffort, at France 3. And one of the two general practitioners still present should also soon retire.

The mayor explains that the clip is only the beginning of the search for new or new practitioners.
