He has just bought a sculptural bunker house made of concrete and glass in Malibu.
According to Dirt, the rapper paid a whopping $ 57.3 million for this property bought off the market.
The price may seem disproportionate for this house of 370 square meters, and yet Kanye West would have obtained a hell of a discount since this exceptional house was originally offered at $ 75 million.
And even at the price paid by the artist, the sale established itself as the second highest real estate transaction of the year in Malibu.
So what is so special about this house?
Well this is quite simply one of the few properties imagined by architect Tadao Ando in the United States.
A work of art
Kanye West, very sensitive to architecture for several years, became a fan of Tadao Ando after visiting Naoshima, this Japanese island housing a multitude of sculptures by various artists highlighted by the creativity of the architect.
In 2018, during an interview with

, Kanye West had also declared that since he had visited the place, he dreamed of living in a sculpture by Turrell, the artist known for his highlights.
Finally, on a practical level, this house has the advantage of being only half an hour by car from the huge Hidden Hills property that he had bought with Kim Kardashian and which she still occupies with their children.
