Shortly two years after the typhoon No. 19 of the typhoon, local university students put a paper crane sticker on a special apple at a farm in Nagano City, which was damaged by the disaster.

Typhoon No. 19 broke down the embankment of the Chikuma River, causing great damage to apple farms in Nagano City.

On the 25th, volunteer university students and others gathered at an apple farm in the Naganuma district of Nagano City near the site where the bank of the Chikuma River broke, and put a sticker of a folded crane with a wish for reconstruction on the fruit of a special apple.

At that time, the farm was filled with earth and sand up to about 40 cm, but with the help of volunteers from all over the country, it was almost restored and the specialty apples bear fruit.

At the time of harvest in November, a paper crane pattern will be attached to the surface of the apples that were not tanned by the sticker.

A first-year college woman who participated said, "I would be happy if you could see the deliciously fruited apples and try your best."

Misa Watanabe, a farmer, said, "I would like to thank all the volunteers from all over the country who helped me at that time to let them know that the apples had been restored until they came to fruition."

Apples are to be sold at accommodation facilities and on the Internet as products that impress the reconstruction, along with soba and juice made by the affected companies.
