According to TASS, it was planned to erect the Bellingshausen monument in January this year in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Antarctic expedition under his command.
But due to difficulties due to the coronavirus pandemic, the installation was postponed to a later date.
The official opening of the monument is scheduled for September 30.
Earlier it became known that the research vessel "Akademik Fedorov" returned from Antarctica to St. Petersburg.
