Italian Laura Morante is an excellent actress and director.

But she is also a passionate writer.

Here she arrives today in France with a collection of short stories.

Subtle stories at the level of men.

We know

Laura Morante

as a director and an actress flagship of Italian cinema. We all have in mind the character of Paola in "

The son's room

" by Nanni Moretti, but she has also toured with Bernardo Bertolucci, Alain Resnais, Danièle Thompson or John Malkovich, more recently Nicolas Bedos.

But, Laura Morante is also a writer. She comes to present her first book to be published in French, a collection of short stories. Fifteen texts in which she tells the distress of a bar owner who one day sees one of his regulars leave; the case of conscience of a woman shaken by the marital infidelity of a close friend, the hesitations of a man who realizes that he no longer loves his fiancée and who does not know how to leave her; the distress of a child helplessly witnessing the explosion of her family, or the mechanics of a friendship that breaks between two teenage girls.

Often ambiguous and biting texts, where darkness rubs shoulders with zany and a tender irony.

A reading treat.

"

 Some indelicatesses du destin

", by Laura Morante, appeared in France by Editions Rivages, in a translation by Hélène Frappat.
