French President Emmanuel Macron called on Friday September 24 in Paris the new Lebanese Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, to "urgently" implement the necessary reforms and hailed an "opportunity to make concrete progress" so that Lebanon can exit of the crisis.

"It is urgent to take the necessary measures and reforms", declared Emmanuel Macron alongside Najib Mikati after their meeting, adding that the arrival at the helm of the Prime Minister after months of political blockage represented a " opportunity to make concrete progress on the path of reforms ".

Najib Mikati himself said he wanted to do it "as soon as possible".
