September 22 is the 24th World Car-Free Day. The Municipal Transportation Commission announced a series of measures to facilitate citizens to choose bicycles, walking and other green transportation modes.

According to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transportation, all administrative districts in Beijing will introduce shared bicycle operations this year, among which Mentougou District will introduce shared bicycle operations for the first time.

In addition, 51 key subway stations in the central city will add "electronic fence" parking spots for bicycles to guide citizens to regulate parking.

At the end of the year, all administrative districts in Beijing will introduce shared bicycles

Yesterday, a reporter from the Beijing Youth Daily learned from the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transportation that it is expected that shared bicycles will be introduced to all administrative districts in Beijing within this year, including Mentougou District, which has never been served by shared bicycles or public bicycles.

Bike-sharing started in 2016. At its peak, there were 16 brand companies and more than 2.3 million vehicles in Beijing.

As the market continues to develop and mature, companies survive the survival of the fittest. At present, there are three brands of Meituan, Haro, and Qingju, operating in all districts except Mentougou District, with a total of approximately 941,000 vehicles serving citizens for short-distance travel.

Hu Haiming, a third-level investigator of the Static Traffic Management Department of the Municipal Transportation Commission, introduced that with the optimization and improvement of the city's green travel environment and the popularization of shared bicycles, citizens are enthusiastic about cycling.

Since the beginning of this year, the city’s cumulative cycling volume has reached 638 million, with an average daily cycling volume of 2.4203 million, a year-on-year increase of 44.4%. On September 18, the cycling volume reached 4.71 million, a record high.

51 key subway stations will introduce "electronic fences"

While sharing bicycles brings convenience to the citizens, the phenomenon of disorderly parking is prominent, which affects citizens' travel and the city appearance and environment.

In order to further regulate the parking order of shared bicycles, the Municipal Transportation Commission recently issued the "Announcement Regarding Some Areas of the City as Internet Rental Bicycle Parking Areas", clarifying the principle that shared bicycles are prohibited from parking outside of the parking area within the ring road and other roads. , And 16 key areas (including all sections of motor vehicle lanes, non-motor vehicle lanes, pedestrian walkways, etc.) in the functional core areas of the capital, such as Wusi Avenue, are designated as shared bicycle parking areas.

At the same time, Beijing continues to expand the scope of the "electronic fence" pilot.

Based on the 31 pilot areas of the “electronic fence” technology for shared bicycles last year, it is planned to add 51 key rail stations in the central city this year and include them in the “electronic fence” pilot program to further guide cyclists to “park in” and standardize the parking order of vehicles .

At present, the planning and construction plan has been completed and 6 sites have been completed, namely Gulou West Street, Xi’anmen Street, Jiuxianqiao Commercial District, roads around Chaoyang Hospital, Xierqi Metro Station, and Tsinghua West Road East Exit Metro Station. Other stations are planned to be located at Complete before the end of the year.

Various preferential activities attract citizens to travel green

September 22 is World Car-Free Day. The Beijing Municipal Commission of Transportation simultaneously launched a number of online and offline activities to create a green and civilized travel atmosphere. Many transportation companies have also used preferential methods to attract citizens to travel green.

On the day of the event, many representatives of citizens who love cycling experienced "Hutong cycling" near Liangguochang Hutong in Dongcheng District.

Yu Lin, general manager of the Ant Group's Strategic Development Department, introduced that since September 22, Alipay has launched a charity activity called "Green Travel'Codes' in Beijing".

From September to December 2021, from the 22nd to the 28th of each month, when citizens take public transportation (including buses, subways and cycling) through the Alipay code, they can receive a green travel package on the event homepage to get a ride discount.

Hu Qianghong, Senior Vice President of Haro Travel, introduced that during this event, Haro Bikes will carry out cycling week activities, sending millions of benefits to new and old users in Beijing, directly subsidizing cycling vouchers, and the single value is 0.5- 1.5 yuan, up to free ride.
