The stolen Porsche from singer Udo Lindenberg (75) has been the subject of a process before the Hamburg-St. George. A 26-year-old is accused of being involved in the theft of the sports car on June 22, 2020 from the underground car park of the Hotel Atlantic. According to the public prosecutor's office, it is unclear whether the defendant stole the car himself or obtained it from an unknown perpetrator shortly afterwards, knowing the theft. In the latter case, joint stolen property is to be assumed. The theft of Lindenberg's car caused a stir nationwide.

The singer's car is a Porsche 911 R, only 991 of which were built.

The value of the car is currently estimated at around 600,000 euros.

The car was rediscovered a few days after the theft by police officers in a garage in Ahrensburg in Schleswig-Holstein.

Theft of three vehicles in 2019

At the beginning of the trial, the 26-year-old denied any involvement in the theft of the Lindenberg Porsche, but admitted through his lawyer that he had been present in three of the acts that he was also accused of.

The 26-year-old is also charged with alleged theft of three other cars.

In 2019, he and his accomplices are said to have broken into changing lockers in indoor swimming pools or opened them with counterfeit keys in order to get to the vehicle keys.

Udo Lindenberg is one of the most successful contemporary German artists.

The 75-year-old rock musician has lived in Hamburg for decades, where he resides in the luxury hotel "Atlantic" on the Alster.
