According to a number of local newspapers, Vasily Gorgos suddenly appeared in front of his house, wearing the same clothes he was seen in 30 years ago, which was a great shock to his family and the local community.
The newspaper "Gazeta.ru" and "Russia Today" indicated that the man was living in the Romanian city of Bacau, trading livestock, and was leaving his family permanently, but in 1991 he left his home and did not return as usual.
After searching for him for several days, his relatives announced his death and held traditional ceremonies for his funeral.
Last August, a car stopped in front of the house where his children and their families live, to the astonishment of the neighbors when they saw Vasily, who had been missing 30 years ago, get out of the car in the same clothes he was in when he left his house.
The family did not believe what was happening and thought it was a bad joke, but it became clear to them that the person in front of them was actually Vasily in the same clothes he was last seen.
He is in good physical condition, but suffers from senile dementia, and he has no memory of what happened in 30 years. "I was always at home," he says.
His relatives found his personal documents and a 1991 train ticket to Ploiesti in his pocket.
His relatives believe, that one of them realized that this old man had lost his way and decided to return him to the address shown in his personal documents.
