There is a man in Wakayama City who has lost his eyesight to continue commuting by bus for many years while being guided by the "small hands" of elementary school students.

Support that had been suspended due to the influence of the new coronavirus resumed on the morning of the 22nd for the first time in a year and a half, and the man boarded the bus with the support of elementary school students.

This support was provided by Hirotaka Yamazaki (59), who lives in Wakayama City, who suffered from an intractable disease at the age of 35 and then gradually lost his eyesight. I have it.

Support is called a "small hand relay" because it has been passed down to children in the same elementary school for many years.

Mr. Yamazaki has been commuting to work at different times to prevent infection with the new corona, but as the infection situation has settled down, he went to work on the same bus as elementary school students for the first time in a year and a half on the 22nd.

When the bus arrived at the bus stop before 7:30 on the morning of the 22nd, a 5th grade girl gently put her hand around Mr. Yamazaki's waist and guided him not to step off the step.

Mr. Yamazaki said, "I was able to get on the bus with peace of mind because my small warm hands were around my waist for the first time in a long time. I am looking forward to commuting to work with the children at the bus stop."
