The Hainan Changjiang Bird Love Team recently discovered a rare “scar” cotton mallard in the Haiwei Wetland Park of Changjiang Li Autonomous County. This species belongs to the second-level national key protected wildlife.
According to the records of the Bird Watching Record Center of the Hainan Bird Watching Society, the last time the cotton mallard was recorded in Hainan was in 1904, and it has been 117 years.
