Twenty years later, Toulouse commemorates the deadly explosion of AZF

Toulouse will commemorate a tragic anniversary this Tuesday.

Like every year on the same date, the sirens will sound in the pink city at 10:17 a.m., time of the AZF factory explosion 20 years ago.

Then the names of the 31 deceased people will be given out before the wreaths are laid and a minute of silence.

Local elected officials, representatives of the State and certain associations of victims, including former AZF employees, will meet on the site of the former chemical plant completely destroyed during the biggest French industrial disaster since 1945.

The incest commission launches a call to testify

France is equipping itself this Tuesday with a new tool to help victims of incest. The Independent Commission on Incest and Sexual Violence Against Children (Ciivise) will launch a call for testimonies to listen to the victims of sexual assault in childhood, sometimes walled in silence for years, and draw inspiration from their word to formulate a policy that will protect children. The commission opens for that at 10 am, a telephone platform to collect the words of the victims and their close relations, often subjected to the omerta imposed by the aggressor. The 0805 802 804 line will be open between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Another number, 0800 100 811, is adapted to Overseas timetables. Victims will also find the modalities for testifying in writing on the Ciivise website.

Deliveroo and former correctional officers for "hidden work"

Deliveroo is in turmoil.

The meal delivery platform and three of its ex-leaders were referred to the Paris Criminal Court for "hidden work", we learned on Monday from sources familiar with the matter.

To be able to explain, the company, accused of having "concealed a large number of jobs", and the three former executives of Deliveroo France, including its former CEO, are summoned to court from March 8 to 16. 2022 for facts dating back to the period 2015-2017.
