Ninety-nine classes were closed in Yvelines this Friday after cases of Covid-19 were detected among the students.

The department is the most affected of the Academy of Versailles.

However, the situation does not frighten observers.

"For the moment there is no large cluster identified to our knowledge, we are part of the continuity and it works", commented the local Snuipp-SNU teachers' union, quoted by

The closures in the application of health measures to fight against the coronavirus at school have not created a major stir among representatives of teachers or parents of students.

"We have not had any particular feedback from parents, nor have we been alerted to class closures that would have been a problem in the department," said the Yvelines branch of the Federation of parents' councils. (FCPE).

A fully closed school

Only one establishment of the academy has experienced a total closure since the start of the 2021-2022 school year.

This is the Louis-Pasteur nursery school in Bailly (Yvelines), which ceased all activity on September 10.

The day before, cases of Covid-19 had been diagnosed in students in each of the four classes.

As provided for in the protocol, the doors remained closed for seven days.

The school was able to welcome its 112 students again this Friday, when saliva tests were organized for all.
