  Recently, Zhaopin Recruitment released the "Generation Z Workplace Status and Trends Survey Report", cutting into the current situation of the Generation Z workplace, job search expectations, new career choices, etc., presenting a true "Portrait of Generation Z in the workplace", reflecting the new development trend of organizational management.

  20.1% of "post-00s" are engaged in the Internet industry

  The advancement of science and technology and the iteration of the industrial structure have made the Internet a popular industry, attracting more young people.

Zhaopin’s recruitment survey shows that among Gen Z, 14.7% of the “post-95s” and 20.1% of the “post-00s” are in the IT/communication/electronics/Internet industry, which is significantly higher than that of the “pre-95” age groups engaged in the Internet industry The proportion of "post-65s" (6.9%), "post-75s" (8.6%), "post-85s" (10.8%)].

  The data shows that 27.6% of post-95s and 30.8% post-00s have an attitude of "pursuing ideals and looking forward to self-realization in work".

Compared with Generation Z, "post-75s" (35.5%) and "post-85s" (33.7%) have a higher proportion of those who pursue ideals.

2.2% of the "post-95s" and 3.4% of the "post-00s" "normalized fishing", while the proportions of "post-75s" and "post-85s" "normalized fishing" were only 1.7% and 1.8%.

From the perspective of working hours, work is not all of the life of Gen Z. Only about 30% of Gen Z employees work more than 9 hours a day, which is lower than the "pre-95" group ["65s" (37.9%), "75s" "(42.9%), "Post-85s" (37.5%)].

  But in terms of industries, among Gen Z, Internet people are not "big overworkers" who work long hours.

44.8% of processing/manufacturing practitioners, 44.1% of real estate/construction industry practitioners work more than 9 hours a day, and Internet and financial practitioners of Generation Z who work more than 9 hours a day account for 27% and 36.5%, respectively.

  The Internet industry that makes workplace people "pain and happy" is the industry that Gen Z is most looking forward to. 24.8% of "post-95s" and 31.1% of "post-00s" hope to join this industry.

  It is worth mentioning that when people in various industries face job-hopping, most of the Z generation still want to work in the industry they are currently in. Among them, 70.3% of Internet people want to change jobs instead of changing jobs.

  Over 70% of Gen Z are engaged in or willing to try new careers

  In July 2020, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security included "live-streaming salespersons" as a new type of work, and carrying goods anchors has officially become a profession.

Zhaopin recruitment data shows that more than 70% of Gen Z are engaged in or are willing to try emerging careers such as e-commerce anchors, which is significantly higher than the "pre-95" group: the proportions of "post-65s", "post-75s" and "post-85s" are less than 70%, of which only 48.2% of the "post-75s".

  Regarding the reasons for engaging in new occupations, about 65% of Gen Z believe that "income is higher and benefits are better", which accounts for the highest proportion of the options for all reasons.

Currently engaged in culture/media/entertainment/sports practitioners are willing to try emerging occupations in a higher proportion, reaching 78.4%, while practitioners in traditional industries such as energy, mining, processing and manufacturing tend to engage in emerging occupations at a lower proportion, among which energy / Gen Z in the mining industry, only 57.4% are willing to try new careers.

  There are many literary and artistic young people who love gourmet food and record their lives in the Z generation. 16.3% of the post-95s and 19% of the post-00s respectively want to be video bloggers, which is higher than other career options.

In addition, 13.8% of the "post-95s" and 12.6% of the "post-00s" want to be food experience officers.
