The elections to the State Duma of the VIII convocation, about which the "Bolsheviks" talked so much, took place.

The damp hopes of external spiteful critics, their local non-systemic adherents, as well as the Zyuganovites who joined them through the "smart vote" never came true.

Despite the very uncomfortable conditions, the ruling party carried out a brilliant election campaign and defended its status.

Unlike the 2016 campaign, which took place in the wake of the emotional upsurge of the Crimean consensus, the 2021 elections unfolded in a second year of pandemic restrictions, a drop in income as a result of the economic crisis and unprecedented external pressure on our electoral system.

So, in these difficult conditions, with practically the same turnout as in 2016, the United Russia party retains a qualifying majority in parliament, practically repeating the result.

From the novels of the past campaign - the three-day voting, which the voters liked so much.

It turned out to be convenient.

Of course, this greatly increased the burden on the organizers of the elections, on the CEC, on the regional commissions, but this is the peculiarity of this campaign.

Convenience for citizens became the main principle of organizing voting.

From the same row - the organization of remote electronic voting in seven regions of the country.

Collectively, several million voters have taken advantage of this new way to cast their votes.

In the medium term, in general, all electoral procedures will go online.

It is modern, it is convenient, it is safe.

As for the competition in the past elections, it is enough to note that 14 parties fought for mandates in the State Duma of the VIII convocation.

The Central Election Commission practically set a record for the minimum number of refusals to register candidates and parties, allowing voters to assess the stupidity of each one for themselves.

Which is exactly what happened.

In general, as the quality of the organization of the elections itself has increased, the competence of some candidates who did not make it to parliament does not correspond to this high standard.

On the other hand, the public's demand for new faces and the renewal of the political class played a cruel joke with many bison of the national public policy.

The Communist Party of the Russian Federation improved the previous result without gathering the entire protest electorate - all growth was mainly due to the fall of the Liberal Democratic Party and the votes of the non-systemic opposition against the ruling party.

If the Zyuganovites on the protest trend did not disdain anything at all, including anti-Axis and Covid dissidence with non-systemic opposition and outright enemies of the state, then Zhirinovsky and his party did not step over the red lines.

Akella missed: the leader was old and tired.

He honestly worked the entire campaign non-stop, but this is not enough.

There is no former energy, there is no sense of the moment.

Frankly, it is a pity that the LDPR - undoubtedly one of the brightest eras in Russian politics - is leaving, dissolving between United Russia, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the nimble political youth, which is almost gaining the passing percentage, but is already taking away the voters' sympathies, boldly and cynically. as at one time the Zhirinovites had all the rest during their heyday.

At the same time, it is important to note that United Russia has renewed its candidate corps by more than half.

Which was also appreciated by the voter.

Undoubtedly, the intrigue of the election night is whether the new party of "New People" will keep the 5% passing threshold as the votes are counted.

The five-legged Duma greatly reduces the electoral prize.

Separately, it is worth noting the victory in the nomination of unjustified hopes of voters from the campaign pollinated by the Prilepins and patriots of A Just Russia.

SRPZP never jumped out of fourth place, practically repeating the previous result, adding a little in a single constituency, but losing several almost guaranteed single-mandate constituencies.

In general, an important result of the campaign for the election of deputies of the VIII convocation of the State Duma was a clear expression of the attitude of the country's citizens to the course that President Putin is leading our country.

The constitutional majority of Putin's party in a broad sense (and this is not only about United Russia, which receives about 315 seats in parliament) gives confidence to the state, strengthens the sovereign legitimacy of our great country.

We wish the newly elected deputies good luck.

And of course, the main expectation of our wonderful people is the expectation of honest and fair work of the State Duma in the interests of the majority of citizens.

I cautiously hope that the times when the opinion of the critical minority was imposed on the whole country as a mandatory mainstream are in the past.
