This year's event took place in the open-air area of ​​the Event Deck of the LA Live Pavilion.

It is located behind the Microsoft Theater, where the awards were traditionally held.

The ceremony was moderated by actor Cedric Antonio Kiles, known as Cedric the Entertainer.

The best drama series was "The Crown".

Awards in acting nominations were distributed as follows.

The site also presented such projects as Cobra Kai, Kominsky Method, Emily in Paris, Bridgertons and others.

In total, they received 129 nominations.

In 2021, the HBO TV channel and the HBO Max Internet platform were in the lead by a similar indicator.

Their products, as well as the cast and crew members involved, were featured 130 times on the nominees list.

In 2020, the Primetime Emmy Awards were held remotely due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Organizers are now slowly returning to standard practice, but due to the delta strain, the American Television Academy has been forced to take action - including the outdoor event mentioned above.

To prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, the organizers also decided to limit the number of nominees who could participate in the event in person.

From each project, only four representatives were admitted to the event.

This measure was introduced after the invitations to the ceremony were sent out, and the members of the creative teams had to decide on their own how to distribute tickets.

The organizers expressed regret over the current situation, but stated that their priority in this case is the safety of guests.

The 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards were the 73rd in history. The event has been held annually since 1949. In addition to prime-time programs, daytime TV programs, sports projects, documentary and news shows are honored.
