  Since the 18th, China’s rainfall has developed rapidly and increased. Meteorological monitoring showed that on the 18th, large-scale to heavy rains occurred in Sichuan, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Henan, Shanxi, Hebei and other places. Among them, Sichuan Guang’an and Dazhou, Chongqing Dianjiang, Kaizhou and Heavy rains occurred in Chengkou, Ankang in Shaanxi, Yuncheng, Jincheng and Changzhi in Shanxi, Luoyang, Jiaozuo, Xinxiang, Hebi, Anyang and Puyang in Henan, and Handan in Hebei.

The daily rainfall of 35 national stations in Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan and Hebei exceeded the historical extreme value of September.

  It is expected that on the 19th and 20th, this round of heavy rainfall will continue, with heavy rain from west to east in Jianghan, Huanghuai, North China, and Northeast China.

On the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival on the 21st, the rainfall process basically ended. Except for light to moderate rain in the Northeast, most areas of the country were mainly sunny to cloudy.

  Specifically, from day to night on the 19th, there were heavy rains in parts of western and southeastern Liaoning, central and eastern North China, most of Huanghuai, western Jianghuai, eastern Jianghan, northern Hunan, southern Guizhou, and central and eastern Yunnan. Among them, there were heavy rainstorms in parts of the southeast and northeast of Hebei, southern Tianjin, and northern Shandong. There were winds of magnitude 4-6 and gusts of magnitude 7-9 in North China, Huanghuai and other places.

  In terms of temperature, affected by rainfall, there will be obvious gale cooling processes in North China and Northeast China.

There were high temperatures above 35°C in the southeastern part of Jianghan, most of the south of the Yangtze River, and central and northern parts of South China on the 19th, and the local temperature could reach above 37°C. From the 20th to the 21st, the high temperature range and intensity will be significantly reduced.

  Meteorological experts reminded that this heavy rainfall has a wide coverage and strong intensity, especially in Henan, western Shandong, southern Hebei and other places where the heavy rainfall overlaps with the previous rainy areas. Special attention should be paid to secondary disasters.

The rainfall coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival. It is recommended to strengthen traffic safety management to reduce the adverse effects of heavy rainfall and windy weather on city operations and public travel.
