, nearly 8,000 hunters gathered on Saturday in Forcalquier (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence) to defend traditional hunting and rural areas.

This event took place as part of a call from several federations of hunters, and six other parades took place (Landes, Ille-et-Vilaine, Calvados, Paris, Somme, Loiret and Côte-d'Or)

Hunters are protesting in particular against the ban on several traditional bird hunting methods deemed illegal by the Council of State last August.

These concern capture techniques with nets or using cages.

At the beginning of the summer, it was glue hunting that had been banned.
