China News Service, Beijing, September 19. The Animal and Plant Quarantine Department of the General Administration of Customs recently issued a notice on the suspension of the importation of Taiwan sugar apple and lotus mist into the mainland.

  According to the notice, since the beginning of this year, the Mainland Customs has repeatedly detected quarantine pests, Planococcus minor, from Annona and lotus mist exported from Taiwan to the Mainland.

In order to prevent the risk of plant epidemics, in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations and standards of the mainland, it is hereby decided to suspend the importation of sugar apple and lotus mist from Taiwan to the mainland from September 20, 2021.

  The notification requires that all customs offices will suspend the acceptance of customs declarations for sugar apples and lotus mists in Taiwan from September 20, 2021, and promptly notify relevant enterprises in their jurisdictions of the above.
