Two days before the Chinese folk tradition Mid-Autumn Festival, Huzhu Donggou Township held a traditional handmade mooncake contest.

Local people dressed in costumes prayed for safety, danced for Anzhao, and celebrated a good harvest.

The traditional Tu people’s mooncakes are shaped like big steamed buns. They are made from locally grown noodles and bitter beans, smeared with couma flour and clear oil on the surface, and finally steamed.

Traditional handmade moon cakes have a long production cycle, and it takes a week to make larger moon cakes.

With the improvement of living standards, the ingredients of the Tu people's moon cakes are gradually enriched, and the size of the moon cakes is getting bigger and bigger, and the largest diameter can reach more than 1 meter.
