"As the acting head of the delegation, my responsibility is to go to every venue to cheer up these young athletes." Zheng Jingliang said, besides that, he himself also enjoyed the process of participating in the National Games.

Because, "It feels like a big family here."

Zheng Jingliang has worked as a beach volleyball coach for many years, and once led the Hong Kong team to win the women's championship of the Chinese Middle School Students Beach Volleyball Championship.

He feels cordial every time he participates in a national competition.

"When you go to a foreign competition, when the Hong Kong delegation of China enters the stadium, the foreign audience may not know you or pay attention to you. But the opening ceremony of the (National Games) in Xi'an a few days ago, wow, you see Hong Kong enter When there were so many people cheering in the audience, our young standard-bearers received so many interviews (interviews)," he said.

At the opening ceremony on the 15th, Hong Kong 26-year-old rock climber Ou Zhifeng led the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region sports delegation into the Xi’an Olympic Sports Center Stadium as the flag bearer.

The young standard-bearer who was originally "extremely nervous" relaxed after seeing the enthusiastic smiling faces in the audience.

Ou Zhifeng recalled the opening ceremony and said with a smile: "The flag was originally heavy, but the cheers of the audience gave me the strength to wave the flag vigorously."

In the earlier baseball game, the Hong Kong team received a gift from the Huyi District of Xi'an City, where the event was held, after finishing all the games-a Shaanxi cultural specialty drawn by a local farmer painter: Huxian Farmer Painting.

Several team members couldn't put it down, holding up the painting and facing the camera compared to "yeah".

"After experiencing the epidemic, Hong Kong athletes finally competed with elite athletes from all over the motherland, and finally saw spectators from all over the motherland again. It felt good to be together." Zheng Jingliang said, "I often encourage young Hong Kong athletes to go to other provinces and regions. Take a look. They often watch (mainland) variety shows on their mobile phones now. I said that they should go to see the development of other parts of the country more and communicate more. You will really feel the pride of being a Chinese."

In the just-concluded Tokyo Olympics, the Hong Kong delegation won 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze, the best result since Hong Kong's return.

Zheng Jingliang said that this is a testament to the development of Hong Kong’s sports industry under the support of the motherland: “We are really grateful for the support given by the motherland. The next National Games will be hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau. Great encouragement."

On the 17th, the rock climbing competition in the last National Games rock climbing mass competition men's rock climbing champion, Hong Kong team member Chen Xiangzhi and teammate Huang Zhuonan participated in the speed climbing preliminaries, but unfortunately failed to qualify.

Zheng Jingliang still expressed encouragement to them.

In recent years, he has participated in school physical education in Guangdong and other places, and guided young sand volleyball athletes, so that he has a deep understanding of the essence of sportsmanship.

"After the Tokyo Olympics, these athletes are very popular in Hong Kong. I hope that the young people in Hong Kong can pass on the Chinese sportsmanship and that more young people can participate in sports activities." He said.
