Miyagi Prefecture and Sendai City announced on the 18th that 34 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
The prefecture and city also announced that a total of four men and women in their 60s and 80s who were hospitalized at medical institutions in the prefecture died from the 17th to the 18th.
The number of deaths announced by four people a day in the prefecture is the highest ever.
The total number of infected people in Miyagi prefecture was 15,968, and the number of people who died was 113.
