Kill her three daughters after returning from a trip!

A woman accused of killing her three daughters just weeks after the family arrived in New Zealand from South Africa has appeared in court today.

A court spokesman said Lauren Ann Dickason appeared in court in the coastal city of Timaru in the morning and that the judge had renewed her detention in hospital for an assessment of her mental state.

Police said Dickason, 40, is accused of killing her two-year-old twin girls and their six-year-old sister.

Their bodies were found on Thursday in the house where the family was staying.

"The police would like to reassure the community that this was an isolated tragic incident and we are not looking for anyone else," the police said in a statement late yesterday evening.

Dickson will appear in court again on October 5th.

New Zealand media reported that Dickason and her husband are both doctors.
