To film as one would deliver a boxing fight, like one would write a letter of rupture, with rage and mixed love, while leaving the spectator stunned and dazzled at the same time: it is the impression left by one of the shocking films of the last festival of Cannes (where he won the Jury Prize), in theaters since last Wednesday (September 15, 2021).

This is Nadav Lapid's fourth feature film, “Ahed's Knee”.

Y, a well-known director, is invited by a cultural center located in the middle of the desert to come and present his film.

But he discovers that he must, in advance, say what themes he wishes to address.

Nadav Lapid engages in the exercise of the first reel: the commentary, sequence by sequence, of the first six minutes of the film and of his staging choices.
