Travel along the dam of Weihui section of Weihe Xinxiang to the northeast for more than 20 minutes, and arrive at Maying Village, Dunfangdian Countryside.

This was once one of the more severely affected villages in Weihui City, a disaster-stricken area in northern Henan.

In late July, Henan was hit by a heavy rainstorm, and Zhengzhou, Xinxiang, Hebi and other places in the central and northern regions were severely affected.

In the past few days, reporters from Chinanews.com have paid a return visit to the post-disaster reconstruction work in the above-mentioned areas.

Among them, the visit to Xiamaying Primary School impressed the reporters and his party.

The picture shows Jiao Zhenyu, the principal of Xiamaying Primary School, choked up several times when he recalled the situation during the disaster.

  Class Book Sound

Located in a corner of the village, the Xia Ma Ying Primary School is the hope for the children in the village to go out, and is pinned on the aspirations of the elders in the village.

The school has more than 70 students in grades one to four.

The journal arrived on September 12th, and classes officially started on the 13th. In the classroom that was once swept by the flood, there was a rustling sound of flipping books as scheduled.

Jiao Zhenyu is the principal of this school and one of only seven faculty members.

She was small in size, and she carried the hope of the whole village in the disaster.

Talking about the scene of the disaster, Jiao Zhenyu choked up a few times, "The moment I opened the classroom door, I couldn't help it. The teachers' efforts over the years became a mess."

Jiao Zhenyu pointed to the highest water level marked on the wall and recalled that the depth of the school’s accumulated water was more than two meters at that time. The flood receded into a mess. The entire campus was full of silt and electronic equipment was basically damaged.

Dredging is an important task of post-disaster reconstruction.

The Xiamaying Primary School has limited manpower and it is difficult to clean up the silt.

All of a sudden, the faculty and staff of the brother school in the township, and the villagers near the school, were busy in the small campus.

In 8 days, the silt of Xiamaying Primary School was cleaned up, ensuring that the school opened as scheduled.

Since the beginning of school, Jiao Zhenyu has been very busy.

Not only have to prepare and bring lessons, but also submit some materials and data, "I am busy and happy to see my dear children." Although it will take time for the campus to recover as before, Jiao Zhenyu and his colleagues are full of confidence.

Xiamaying Primary School is a microcosm of schools in the disaster area.

Ji Mingli, principal of Dunfangdian Township Central School, told reporters that 8 of the 15 schools in the township, including Xiamaying Primary School, were flooded, "but no student was left in the township due to the disaster."

According to statistics, a total of 7,132 schools in Henan were damaged to varying degrees due to heavy rains. School buildings collapsed, dangerous buildings were formed, and teaching equipment, desks and stools, and books were destroyed. The direct economic loss was 4.362 billion yuan.

  Enterprise production is busy

Fengquan District, also in the northern part of Xinxiang, is also a more severely affected area. Yifeng Company, which produces ready-mixed concrete, dry-mixed mortar and other building materials within its jurisdiction, is a local leader and one of the companies that suffered the most from the disaster. Chairman Su Dongsheng Told reporters that the company suffered a direct loss of more than 40 million yuan due to the disaster.

Among them, the 6 robots invested in the intelligent cement and special mortar project launched before the flood were soaked in water before being put into use, causing varying degrees of damage.

In the office on the first floor of Yifeng Company, you can still smell the moldy smell after being soaked in water.

From the disaster-affected photos displayed by Su Dongsheng, it can be seen that the entire plant area is basically a vast ocean, turning into an isolated island in the water.

It can be seen from the water marks on the walls of the factory that the deepest part of the stagnant water at that time was enough to be under the head of an adult.

On September 9th, there were still several drainage outlets in the huge factory area.

The reporter learned through understanding that in order to protect the environment, the company has built several corridors in the factory to transport raw materials. The water being discharged is the accumulated water in the corridors.

While “remediating” the flood disaster, Yifeng Company is also actively resuming production.

At present, Yifeng Company has started some production lines, which basically guarantees the supply of construction materials for large-scale local construction sites.

It is expected to resume production at full capacity on September 20.

In Su Dongsheng's view, the full resumption of production by cement companies means the restart of the local construction industry, which is enough to show that the social economy in the disaster area is recovering. "The sun has broken through the darkness before dawn and is rising."

Along the way, the "scars" of the city have not yet faded, and the highest water level that can be seen everywhere in the country reminds people to be ruthless in water and fire, and to always have a sense of prevention and prepare countermeasures.
