Pop singer Nena has canceled her concert tour planned for the coming year.

“I don't want to talk about it for long.

My tour in 2022 will not take place.

And I won't move it a second time, ”the 61-year-old posted on Instagram on Friday.

She cited the corona-related restrictions as the reason: “I stand by my statement: Everyone is welcome at a Nena concert.

Here in our country things are going in a completely different direction at the moment, and I'm not taking part. ”Tickets could be returned where they were bought.

The singer, who lives in Hamburg, has caused discussions several times during the pandemic. In March, she published a video on Instagram with the title "Thank you Kassel" after thousands of people in the city took to the streets against the Corona containment measures. In October, she triggered discussions about possible conspiracy theories with a post on Instagram, but emphasized that she did not want to be understood as a corona denier.

At the end of July a concert near Berlin had ended before a possible encore. Previously, according to a report by the "Tagesspiegel" and several videos on Twitter, Nena had commented on the hygiene regulations. "I am threatened (...) that they will cancel the show because you do not go into your (...) boxes," said Nena accordingly. “I leave it up to you whether you do that or not.” After the concert in Berlin, one concert in Wetzlar, Hesse, and another in Bad Segeberg, Schleswig-Holstein, were canceled.
