Typhoon Chantu is currently located in the sea about 100km southeast of Jeju Island.

Because of this typhoon, it has already rained more than 1,000mm on Jeju Island this week, but now that it is out of the typhoon's sphere, the rain is stopping in Jeju.

However, strong rain is concentrated in the coastal region of Gyeongnam, which is directly affected by this, and water vapor is flowing into various places south of Chungcheong Province.

Accordingly, although the typhoon advisory has been lifted for Jeju Island, typhoon advisories are still in effect mainly in the southern seas and Gyeongnam coast, and heavy rain advisories are in effect in Gyeongbuk, where strong rain is pouring.

In the future, it is predicted that the typhoon will increase its movement speed and head to Japan like this in the afternoon of today (17th).

As a result, heavy rain will continue centered on the Gyeongnam coast, which is directly affected.

More than 120mm is expected, and it is good to be careful not to damage it as it rains in other places south of Chungcheong.

The typhoon will pass and the start of the Chuseok holiday will be sunny tomorrow, but on Chuseok day, there is also a rain forecast nationwide, so it is good to refer to it.
