On September 15, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference. Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, responded to recent hot spots.

Recently, the United States has reiterated that it has no intention to change the one-China policy, while on the other hand it has frequently played the "Taiwan card", planning to rename the "Taiwan Economic and Cultural Representative Office" to the "Taiwan Representative Office", and encouraging Japan, Australia and some European countries to take advantage of the Taiwan issue. At the same time, the DPP authorities vigorously clamored for trouble.

In this regard, Zhu Fenglian said that the US has engaged in Cold War mentality, zero-sum games, made a fuss about the Taiwan issue, and tried to "use Taiwan to control China" and contain China's development. These are all in vain.

Since the US has repeatedly stated that it never intends to change the one-China policy, it should abide by the one-China principle and the provisions of the three Sino-US joint communiqués, fulfill relevant commitments made to China with concrete actions, and stop sending wrong signals to the "Taiwan independence" forces.

Zhu Fenglian emphasized that the Democratic Progressive Party's efforts to engage in "Taiwan independence" is a historical countercurrent and a dead end.

No one should underestimate the strong will, determination and powerful ability of the Chinese people to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity!
