Forty years ago, the death penalty was abolished in France.

A reform led by Robert Badinter, then Minister of Justice and fervent defender of human rights.

To celebrate the anniversary of the end of the death penalty, the lawyer wishes to extend his fight internationally: "We must never forget that human beings are susceptible to change and that it is according to our laws, of our conditions of incarceration that we can expect from them this change.

"

At 93 years old, Robert Badinter stands up straight and, with an assertive voice, he continues his plea: “It is certain that total abolition will triumph.

Why is this conviction so strong with me?

It is because, as our Italian friends say so well, "it is life", it is the struggle of life, not of life, of life.
