China News Service, September 16 According to the official Weibo news of the Information Office of the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, and the China Seismological Network officially determined that at 4:33 on September 16th, a 6.0-magnitude earthquake occurred in Lu County, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. The focal depth is 10 kilometers, the epicenter is located at 29.20 degrees north latitude and 105.34 degrees east longitude.

The Sichuan Earthquake Relief and Disaster Relief Headquarters launched a second-level earthquake emergency response.

  At 7:30 am on September 16, the Provincial Seismological Bureau held a press conference.

According to Zhang Zhiwei, a senior engineer at the Sichuan Seismic Station, the Wenchuan earthquake and the Lushan earthquake occurred in the Longmenshan fault zone, while the Luxian earthquake belongs to the Huayingshan fault zone in the Sichuan Basin.

"Because the two are far apart and belong to different structures, they are not very relevant."
