On the evening of September 15th, the E9 pipe section of the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel constructed by China Communications First Navigation Bureau was successfully docked, marking that the subsea section of the project has been completed at 1,575 meters, which is more than one-half of the total length of the immersed pipe section (3035 meters). More than half of the immersed pipe installation and construction tasks have been completed.

After the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the Dalian Bay Subsea Tunnel is another cross-sea traffic cluster project with complex technical conditions and high environmental protection requirements.

The tunnel is 5.1 kilometers long and consists of 18 immersed pipes.

In December 2020, the first E1 immersed tube was successfully placed on the seabed, marking a zero breakthrough in the construction of the first submarine immersed tube tunnel in cold regions of China.

At 6 o'clock in the morning of the same day, the floating installation work officially started. After completing the tugboat formation, floating, mooring, and installation procedures, the docking with the E8 pipe section was successfully completed at 20:08 that day, which took about 14 hours.

According to the plan, after the installation of the E9 pipe joint is completed, the project team will carry out subsequent preparations for the installation of the pipe joint.
