Allison Mack started her time behind bars.

According to Deadline, the actress, questioned and sentenced for her role in the sex trafficking of the NXIVM sect, presented herself to the authorities a few days before the start of her three-year prison sentence.

According to the Federal Prison Register, she is now incarcerated in Dublin Prison, on the outskirts of San Francisco.

This is the same prison that housed Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman when they were sentenced for their respective roles in the college admissions scandal.

At the time of her conviction last June, Allison Mack had admitted that her participation in the sect was "the biggest mistake and the biggest regret of my life".

Clement but not too much

If she received a relatively low sentence, it is in particular because Allison Mack contributed to the investigation which made it possible to convict the leader of NXIVM, Keith Raniere.

Found guilty of sex trafficking, the man was indeed sentenced last October to 120 years in prison.

Lawyers for the actress, known in particular for her role in the

Smallville

series

, had hoped that the help provided to investigators would allow her to avoid prison, but the clemency of the justice system was not until then.

The case is however not quite finished since Allison Mack, like Keith Raniere, will soon have to be confronted with the civilians to some 80 victims who have attacked them in justice.
