Less than 2,000 coronavirus patients are in intensive care on Wednesday, a first since August 17, according to figures released Wednesday by Public Health France, which specifies that hospitalizations are also decreasing.
Additional good news, the incidence rate fell below the bar of 100 cases (99.2) per 100,000 inhabitants at the national level, this Wednesday, for the first time since mid-July, according to the bulletin of Public Health France.
Decrease in deaths
In detail, with 119 new admissions, the critical care services which treat the most serious cases number 1,959 people against 2,000 the day before.
9,555 patients are currently hospitalized, including 452 admitted in 24 hours against 9,739 on Tuesday.
The disease killed 79 people in 24 hours (96 the day before) bringing the total toll to 115,829 since the start of the epidemic.

The contamination figures also reflect an improvement, with 9,144 new cases recorded against 12,828 a week ago.
The positivity rate, which measures the proportion of positive cases in relation to the number of people tested, remains stable at 1.9%.
In terms of vaccines, since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 49,849,575 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 73.9% of the total population) and 47,104,178 people now have a complete vaccination schedule, which represents 69.9% of the total population.
